Fillers ie (Collagen/Restylane/Hylafrom/Radiesse)

Wrinkle Treatment

There isn't a more effective and faster way to treat established wrinkles than to use a filler such as Collagen. These fillers in gel form are introduced into the skin by simple small injections to instantly plump out the skin for a smoother look. An anesthetic gel is applied for up to an hour before for your greater comfort, although the treatment itself takes rarely more than 20 minutes.

Here at Lonsdale Clinics we have discontinued using Collagen as it is derived from cow hides and a small percentage of people can have an allergic response. It also delays matters as a test dose requires a 4 week wait before treatment can begin.

Nowadays, we favour the use of cross-linked Hyaluronic Acid products that are found naturally in the skin but are derived form non animal sources. Treatment can begin immediately if required, after a consultation and medical papers have been signed.

How many Treatments are required?
Fillers are usually charged by the tube. It is most important that new patients understand that two or three tubes may be needed at the first appointment in order to obtain a satisfactory result. Topping up is required one or two times a year depending on the area treated - usually one tube or less is all that is required.

"Paris Lip" Technique...
One of the most innovative uses of fillers is to plump out the lips to produce a youthful pout - example Kim Basinger. This technique requires a little more time and it is advisable to have the lips gently frozen with local anaesthetic.
